Workplace safety remains in the top priorities of professionals and companies in the electrical field. As of late, the industry has their attention at protecting workers from the arc-flash and arc-blast hazards that occur when work is performed on energized electrical equipment.
For this reason, the NFPA 70E has emerged, an industry consensus standard that determines the specific requirements for working with safety on or around electrical equipment. For example, one of the most prominent safety requirements is that electrical workers turn off the power to the equipment before they attempt to work on it.
