Electrician charges Ochsner with retaliatory discharge claims

Hospital electrician Hui G. Chen has pressed charges against Ochsner Clinic Foundation and Ochsner Clinic for discrimination, claiming he was fired as a retaliation for filing a worker’s compensation claim.

Chen had an injury when he was involved in an accident during work and he filed a worker’s compensation act, staying out of work for around a couple of months.

After coming back to work, he claims, he was discriminated against, as a direct retaliation for filing the compensation act. Later, he was laid off and as he claims, this was due to his disability, race and the complaints against his discrimination.

Chen is now seeking an award of compensatory damages for loss of wages, earnings and earning potential, emotional distress, bodily injury, special damages, court costs, attorney’s fees, interest and more.
