Recall for the imported electrical cable from China

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission have published a recall notice for the imported Infinity electrical cable from China.

The electrical cable has been on sale for the past 18 months and now it is being pulled out from store’s shelves and banned from being sold after a last minute intervention by the electrical watchdog.

In an article posted on Herald Sun, the Chinese manufacturer has opted-out to use polymers, an ingredient that makes the plastic coat durable over time and the most expensive ingredient in the formula.

Test done by the New South Wales government has revealed the plastic coating to deteriorate over time, exposing wires which can cause electric shock or fire that can put home and business owners in danger.

After the announcement of the recall, customers could return the product for full refund.
